Description:

This Law and Ethics training provides participants with the basic foundation of the laws and ethical guidelines that guide and protect clinical practice.  Up to date changes in rules and regulations will be integrated throughout this training. 

 

This training builds a foundation of knowledge for our laws and ethics that may be helpful as a reminder to those who are seasoned practitioners, registered interns preparing for the law and ethics examination, or those who are supervising pre-licensed clinicians.

Objective:

1) Participants will be able to identify at least three recent changes to California law surrounding psychotherapy;

2) Participants will be able to integrate at least three planned changes to California law surrounding psychotherapy into their policies and/or practices;

3) Participants will be able to identify at least three trends in professional ethics codes for psychotherapists;

4) Participants will be able to integrate an understanding of different ethical stances into their ethical decision-making; and

5) Participants will be able to develop a specific action plan for at least two common problems clinicians encounter when working with children and families.


 

Session Notes:
Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for registration. Lunch is one hour and on your own at the trainer's discretion, and you are encouraged to bring your own snacks. Please see the Training Flyers for complete information and registration requirements.
